Last year I complained about animal fur being used everywhere. This year I’m even more appalled when I see boots covered with fur.
First of all, no matter where the fur came from, it’s just plain ugly to have strands of hair hanging on the side of a shoe. Not sure what the designers were thinking when they came up with the idea, maybe it’s “lots of women want to look like they’ve just escaped from the zoo”??
Secondly, if fur is the only option, can they at least dye it to a more pleasant color so it doesn’t give me the creeps? (Hey, I’m talking about the Alexander Wang Polina Fur Ankle Boot and the Opening Ceremony Faux Fur Boot) If I wake up in the mid of the night and see these things lying around in a corner, I’ll RUN!
Girls, if you have to have one of these, please, try the less scary versions from Louboutin and Blahnik. Although you may still risk being sent back to the zoo, at least you’ll be recognized as an animal with more sophisticated taste

I recently got invited to Editors’ Closet. Like Rue Lala and several others, Editors’ Closet is a private club that offers established and “up and coming” brands at up to 80% off retail price. A quick look at their site shows their partners include Moschino, Cacharel, Longchamp, Oscar De La Renta ……
Membership is free but you need to be referred by a friend. For those of you who want to get in, click here to join.

I’ve been anxiously waiting for the site launch since March, even though everyone said it’s just going to be the “sale section” from its mom site.
A quick look at the site this morning proved I was right -theOutnet.com is much more than just an arm or a leg of its mom. It has a totally different look and feel. As the Founder and Chairman of Net-A-Porter puts it, The OutNet is created as a fun destination for a sale shopper to call her own.
I like the “Dress Me” ideas a lot, here everything’s organized according to different occasions such as “First date”, “Board meeting” or “Meet the parents”. It’s interesting to see what the editors have put together for each occasion, most of the time I agree with their choices. If you’re looking for a dress or a wear-to-work jacket, I highly recommend you check out “Dress Me” first, it’s much easier to spot something there than going through the entire “Clothing” category.
The “Flash Sales” section is also something to keep an eye on, this is where you’ll get sale items up to 80% off their original prices, for a limited 72 hours only. Even more fun is the “Going, Going, Gone Sale” which is a new way for the fashionista to snap up a designer label at an irresistible price – you can watch the price drop as the clock ticks ……
All in all, lots of new and interesting concepts in progress, I love The OutNet!

Looks like these designer outlet sites just keep popping up! Billion Dollar Babes is another site that’ll let you buy Prada, Gucci or Jimmy Choo at a deeply discounted price.
One good thing about this site is that you don’t need an invitation, just go sign up for yourself and you’re in! Closet Couture has a provided a coupon code CC25 to take $25 off $100 purchases till the end of April.
As more and more of these sites become available, I’ve also become more and more picky. Gilt.com has become my favorite, since they have the names of the names. Ruelala.com, on the other hand, sometimes surprises me with their 30% discount price on the CURRENT collections of Fendi, Bottega Veneta, etc. These’re the same pieces that would cost a fortune at Saks or Neiman Marcus (not to say the 30%-off prices aren’t a big portion of my paycheck), sometimes I can’t help but feeling obliged to grab the “good deal”!

Mytheresa.com has more and more become my No. 1 window-shopping site. The site was launched in 2006 by THERESA, a Munich store known for high-end fashion. I never thought I would find “cute” clothes in a German online shop, but the truth is, they have lots of playful, sweet items that will just steal your heart.
Nowadays every store seems to carry some “designer” items, but not all stores know how to pick out the real gem from each collection. Let’s face it, a lot of designer pieces are just plain ugly, I would never wear it even if they hand it out for free.
Mytheresa.com has done a great job of differentiating itself from those stores that just want to have Prada or Marc Jacobs on their list of brands. Season after season they’ve delighted me with their carefully-picked, well-edited collections which make me want to keep coming back for more.

I was looking for unique gifts and I found these – M&Ms that can be personalized with words, colors, pictures of your choice!
There’s a vast array of colors to choose from, and they just added a new Shimmer collection (which looks kind of like lip gloss). You can customize the M&Ms with any logo, images and words (in less than 16 letters) you want. My favorite is the M&M’s with Disney characters, they’re just so cute!
If you’re giving them as gifts or party favors, they come in any possible packages or dispensers you can think of. This site is a true heaven for M&M lovers!
